Private tutor (December 2019 – present):
Over 1000 hours experience tutoring students ranging from primary school mathematics to BMO preparation, Oxbridge admissions, and university level mathematics

Summer school Mathematics tutor
Prepared and delivered a week’s worth of lectures to students on a variety of undergraduate level Mathematics topics including Linear Algebra, Probability and Calculus.

Jenny has a wide range of experience helping students pre-GCSE, including leading extension classes to ensure that students retain interest in the subject. She often teaches students topics not covered in school including basic combinatorics, graph theory and number theory. At GCSE she tutors Mathematics and Further Mathematics to both struggling and more advanced students, she also helps students prepare for Maths competitions including the Junior and Senior Maths Challenge, and Olympiads as well as some international competitions.

At A Level Jenny has helped numerous students with Mathematics and Further Mathematics (across all boards) and is happy to prepare revision schedules, and mark past papers. With a recent student, she has worked on a Mathematical EPQ project which came first in a school competition.

Having herself sat the Oxford MAT and been a STEP marker Jenny uses in-depth knowledge of the exams to prepare students for Oxbridge admissions including MAT, STEP and TMUA, and has extra resources including mock past papers. She is also able to help with personal statements and interviews.

During her postgraduate degree, Jenny completed Cambridge University training for supervising undergraduates and has experience teaching Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, Probability, Proofs and Algebra.

Jenny offers a tailored tutoring experience depending on each individual student, allowing them to progress at their own pace. She likes to take a practical hands-on approach by starting with the basics and guiding students through questions of increasing levels of difficulty, making sure that they understand at each step the theory behind the question. She creates resources depending on the needs of the student and encourages them to ask questions whenever they need.

ПОЧЕМУ ИМЕННО РЕПЕТИТОРСТВО?

Throughout school, I often helped my peers with their Maths, and I learnt first-hand how rewarding teaching can be for both the student and the teacher. Working individually with a student means that you can forge a much deeper understanding of the subject and improve communication and study skills. I always enjoy sharing my mathematical knowledge, whether it is basic algebra or advanced university level material and I hope to spread some of my enthusiasm for the subject. It is very fulfilling to help a student work towards their goals and see them improve beyond what they thought was possible.

My favourite book is Lord of the Flies by William Golding

ТЕСТИМОНИАЛЫ

‘I told Jenny last week that modular arithmetic had been bothering me for a while in Olympiads, as I couldn’t seem to grasp my head around how it could be as useful as others made it out to be. As usually at least one question per paper was on modulus, it was bothering me that I couldn’t understand it fully, regardless of the amount of research I did on the subject. Thankfully, Jenny taught me using many examples how to use modulus, and I now completely understand just how useful it is and am now confident with the topic. Jenny also sends me homework hand-picked from various Olympiads after every lesson, which helps me consolidate what I have learnt. Especially with modular arithmetic, I will be eager to do various Olympiad questions on it. A great lesson!’

‘This was an excellent lesson. Jenny went through some challenging past Olympiad questions with me, as well as specific techniques I could employ in future challenges. We also went through continuous fractions and how they can be utilized in Olympiad questions. A great lesson overall!’

‘Thank you so very much for helping me prepare for the MAT, you are an excellent tutor as well as good at moral support and cheering up.’
