Becky completed an undergraduate degree in Economic History at Birmingham University (2016). This was followed by an MSc in Management from Liverpool University (2017). Whilst finishing her Masters thesis, she started teaching Business at a local Sixth Form College, fell in love with teaching and went on to do teacher training (PGCE) with Manchester University, for which she received the Withers Memorial Prize for Academic Achievement. Becky is currently studying part-time for her PHD in Economics at Liverpool University.
Teaching Experience & Approach
I continue to teach IGCSE Economics, A Level Economics and A Level Business (all Edexcel). I am also an examiner for OCR A Level Economics and have tutored AQA Economics. I like to ensure my tutees are equipped with the tools needed for their exam board, so I always incorporate exam questions into my sessions. I take a flexible approach with my students and create tailor-made lesson resources suited for them.
I am very passionate about both subjects I teach and like to include real-world examples into each of my sessions to ensure engagement.
I enjoy tutoring as I love seeing student’s confidence grow as we do more sessions. I enjoy making resources that are tailored to the pupil.
‘My son has recently received an A* for A Level Economics and is off to Birmingham University. He is absolutely delighted. Becky, his tutor, stepped into his Year 13 with tons of experience as both a teacher and an exam board marker so she really knew the syllabus and how to perform well in the exams. Max found her to be very supportive and motivating. A really exceptional find, we’re so very grateful. Thank you.’
