BACKGROUND

Zoe is a Natural Sciences graduate from the University of Leeds where she achieved a first-class Master’s (MSc) and Bachelor’s (BSc) degree. Prior to university, she studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-Level, obtaining A*AA. A former gymnast, Zoe still trains for fun and also teaches gymnastics. Outside of tutoring other hobbies include going to the gym, cooking and eating out.

TUTORING EXPERIENCE AND APPROACH

Having tutored for almost 10 years, Zoe has extensive experience delivering one-to-one lessons in maths and science to students at primary, secondary, and A-Level. She has taught a wide range of students both online and in person, including learners of all abilities and those with learning difficulties. Zoe’s core focus has been supporting GCSE students—helping them build confidence, master key concepts, and enabling them to feel fully prepared for their first set of formal exams.

Zoe offers a tailored one-to-one service, matched to each child’s way of learning – something she believes students just can’t access in school. She maintains a focus on ensuring students don’t just memorise content but properly understand it, so that when faced with an unfamiliar exam question they know exactly how to approach it using wording straight from the mark scheme. Zoe also places a big emphasis on teaching from the mark scheme itself, helping students take useful, organised and focused notes and revise what they truly need to succeed. 

Lessons with Zoe are never too serious, and she works to build a real connection with students so that they feel comfortable, confident, and never afraid to ask questions. 

WHY TUTORING?

I started tutoring because I know how powerful one-to-one support can be. I had an amazing teacher at school who transformed the way I learned – not just in one subject, but across the board – and that really stuck with me. It showed me how much of a difference one person can make in a student’s life, and I want to be that person for others. What drives me most is seeing students achieve things they didn’t think were possible. Whether that’s pushing for top grades or simply building confidence in a subject they’ve always struggled with, it’s incredibly rewarding to help them realise their potential. 

My favourite book, is Harry Potter- all of them!!!
